Penalties take Huddersfield back to Divison Two

Substitute Lee Fowler hit the decisive penalty in the shoot-out to take Huddersfield Town back into the Second Division at the first attempt after a goalless play-off final against Mansfield Town at the Millennium Stadium.

Fowler joined Rob Edwards, Danny Schofield, and Tony Carss in scoring from the spot while goalkeeper Paul Rachubka saved from Wayne Corden and Liam Lawrence hit the crossbar for the Stags.

Mansfield had twice come close to winning the match at the end of normal time and Huddersfield could have wrapped up victory far sooner but for Andy Booth missing a hat-trick of chances.
