Bristol City manager Danny Wilson was without top scorer Lee Peacock for the nationwide Division Two play-off final against Brighton.

The striker was sidelined with an ankle injury picked up in the semi-final second leg win over Hartlepool and was replaced by Lee Miller.

Defender Mickey Bell, who has been struggling with a knee problem in recent weeks, also failed to make the City squad as they attempted to end a five season exile from the First Division.

Brighton boss Mark McGhee was able to name a full strength line-up with star striker Leon Knight having shaken off a minor leg injury to partner Chris Iwelumo up front.

McGhee also preferred Gary Hart to Paul Reid on the right side of midfield as the Seagulls aimed for an immediate return to Division One.

Bristol City: Phillips, Carey, Butler, Coles, Hill, Rougier, Doherty, Tinnion, Woodman, Miller, Roberts. Subs: Stowell, Wilkshire, Burnell, Goodfellow, Murray.

Brighton: Roberts, Virgo, Cullip, Butters, Harding, Hart, Oatway, Carpenter, Nathan Jones, Knight, Iwelumo.

Subs: Kuipers, Mayo, Piercy, Hinshelwood, Reid.
