Maradona on mend: Clinic
Diego Maradona has recovered 50% of his cardiac capacity and is overcoming the withdrawal symptoms caused by his drug addiction, according to a statement from the clinic he was admitted to 10 days ago.
Maradona’s family had admitted him to the Del Parque Clinic in the Buenos Aires suburb of Ituzaingo.
They hoped to cure him from his drug addiction and alleviate the heart and lung problems that at one point had put his life in danger.
In the Del Parque Clinic the former Barcelona and Napoli player has been put on a very strict regime of diets and restricted visits against the wishes of the patient.
The most recent medical report says he has recovered 50% of his cardiac capacity – it had only been 35% when he entered the Suizo Argentina Clinic’s intensive care unit on April 18.
In the last few days, the report added, there have been no significant changes in his behaviour.
When first admitted to hospital he had been aggressive and it had been necessary to sedate him.
The report also says that Maradona has lost eight kilos and is overcoming withdrawal symptoms.
