Rangers offload Capucho
Rangers have confirmed that Nuno Capucho has joined Emerson in heading for the exit door at Ibrox.
Settlements have been reached with the Portuguese star as well as the Brazilian midfielder to cut short their contracts which still had one year left to run having signed last summer.
Both have been out of manager Alex McLeish’s plans since March.
Director of football business Martin Bain said: “We have reached an agreement with Capucho that he can now leave and find another club.
“We made a similar agreement with Emerson yesterday.”
Both players failed to live up to their reputations and found it hard to settle in the Scottish game.
Capucho helped Porto beat Celtic in the UEFA Cup final 12 months ago while former Middlesbrough midfielder Emerson was pinched from under the noses of Hoops boss Martin O’Neill by McLeish.
The pair follow Egil Ostenstad and Christian Nerlinger out of the door after agreements.
