Davis keeps out Hammer blows - half-time

Ipswich goalkeeper Kelvin Davis somehow denied West Ham an opening goal in their Nationwide Division One play-off semi-final second leg with an inspired display in a goalless but action-packed first half.

Davis made full-stretch stops from Bobby Zamora and Christian Dailly while Steve Lomas hit the crossbar as the Hammers came out desperate to level the aggregate score in the tie.

An early chance put wide by Darren Bent, the scorer in Ipswich’s 1-0 win at Portman Road last weekend, was the only threat Town posed to the home goal.
