Boh Doyle called into Four Nations
Bohemians' Robbie Doyle has joined up with the Republic of Ireland squad at the Four Nations tournament in Aberdeen. Doyle flew in this morning and took part in the final training session ahead of tonight's opening game against England.
However, there will be a departure from the squad later this week as Darryl Murphy's call-up to the Republic of Ireland U21 squad to play Scotland next Tuesday means he will leave the eircom League representative squad on Saturday.
He will, however, be available for Ireland's opening fixtures against England tonight and Scotland on Thursday. Kildare County's Alan Byrne has been called into the squad to replace him and will join up with the squad later in the week.
Manager Pat Devlin has said that Murphy, who he has named as captain, will be an obvious loss for the final match but is happy he's available for the opening two fixtures.
"His contribution to the squad since the start of the week has been immense and we're all absolutely delighted that he's been called up to Don Givens' U21 squad," Devlin said.
There was further cause for celebration in the camp this morning as Galway United's John Russell celebrated his 19th birthday.
There are no injuries to report ahead of tonight's game. The starting eleven will be announced an hour before kick-off.
