Former Scotland defender Colin Hendry has thrown his hat into the ring for the vacant manager’s job at Blackpool.

Hendry, who won a championship winners medal with Blackburn, had a spell on loan at Bloomfield Road.

He is now keen to turn his hand to coaching and succeed Steve McMahon at the Second Division club.

“I haven’t spoken to anyone about it yet but I’m honoured to be linked with the Blackpool job,” Hendry told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.

“I was there for about three or four months last season and struck up a good rapport with the fans and people at the club.”
