Early goal gives Waterford difficult win

Waterford bounced back from their 4-0 defeat to Shamrock Rovers at the same venue on Monday night to stay second in the table with this battling win.

Vinny Sullivan was Blues' matchwinner with the only goal of the game on six minutes.

Having missed two chances in quick succession, Sullivan made it third time lucky to head home Mark Clifford's cross.

Blues had defender Kevin O’Brien sent off on 55 minutes but dug in to hold on to three precious points.
