Cork City gain vital win over St Pat's

St. Patrick’s Athletic 0 Cork City 2

Cork bounced back from their midweek defeat at home to Waterford as Pat Dolan had a happy return to Inchicore.

Cork started the better with John O’Flynn coming close with a couple of half chances.

But it was St Pat’s who should have been in front at the break, but City keeper Michael Devine saved well at the feet of Paul Rose.

Nigerian Michael Nwankwo gave City the lead five minutes into the second half with a delightful chip.

O’Flynn then sealed the win with the second goal mid-way through the half.
