Drogheda record second win in a row
Drogheda United 1 Shamrock Rovers 0
Drogheda made it two wins on the spin to move up into mid-table with this deserved victory.
Mark Rooney was the Drogheda goal hero with the only strike of the game on 25 minutes.
The ex-UCD striker drilled home the rebound after Andy Myler’s penalty - for a foul by Terry Palmer on Rooney - had come back off a post.
Trevor Molloy had earlier wasted Rovers’ best opening when heading wide from Mark Rutherford’s cross.
