Bates: I'll axe Owls big two
Ken Bates has revealed his plans to remove chairman Dave Allen and manager Chris Turner if he takes over at Hillsborough.
The former Chelsea chairman has finally begun negotiations with the Second Division club with a view to taking charge.
Bates has already outlined plans to pull Wednesday clear of their financial problems and restore some pride to the embattled club.
Now he has revealed the two men currently pulling the strings at Hillsborough will play no part in that future.
He told the Yorkshire Post: “It is one or the other in terms of Dave Allen or myself – he says we are not compatible and I would agree with him.
“I was originally open-minded about Chris Turner’s future but now he has dug himself into a pit saying that I know nothing about running a football club.
“Would he want to work for a chairman who he believes knows nothing about running a football club?”
