Aston Villa’s hopes of qualifying for Europe have suffered a major setback with top scorer Juan Pablo Angel facing three weeks out of action with a knee problem.

The Colombian international is certain to miss Villa’s next four matches with Bolton, Chelsea, Newcastle and Middlesbrough.
