Blacks Cats sweat on Wright's fitness

Sunderland full-back Stephen Wright is facing a race against time to be fit for Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final clash with Millwall.

The former Liverpool full-back picked up an ankle ligament problem in the 2-1 win over Gillingham on March 23 and is rated at only 50-50.

Striker Kevin Kyle is expected to recover from the bout of gastro-enteritis which kept him out of last Saturday’s 2-1 win over Derby and John Oster withdrew from the Wales squad in midweek but should shake off a hamstring problem, but Jeff Whitley is suspended and Darren Byfield is ineligible.
