Winter break promise swayed Sven

The promise of a winter break helped convince Sven-Goran Eriksson to commit his long-term future to England.

The Swede admitted yesterday he had held talks with Chelsea but opted instead to extend his England contract until 2008 and end suggestions of him taking over at Stamford Bridge this summer.
