Baker got possession again from Paul Keegan after a clever backheel and then unleashed a stunning right footer to the roof of the net from the edge of the area for a wonder goal.

That proved the only goal of a game Town controlled for long spells.

City almost snatched a point in stoppage time, but Robbie Collins’ close range effort was inches wide.
