O'Neill considers Sutton risk

Celtic manager Martin O’Neill could throw striker Chris Sutton into the Nou Camp fray tomorrow after promising signs of progress from the injured player.

The forward has been missing since the game at Teplice three weeks ago with an ankle injury.

But the Parkhead boss is refusing to rule the forward out of the UEFA Cup fourth round, second leg against Barcelona just yet.

O’Neill told the Celtic View: “If you’d asked me on Friday, I’d have said he had next to no chance.

“But he’s improved and we’re obviously hoping that he can make it because he’s a massive player for us.

“We’ll give him every possible chance, as we will with all the boys.

“Regardless, we’re going to go over there and give absolutely everything we have.

“Whether that will be enough, only time will tell but I have a lot of faith in this team.”

O’Neill is also anxiously waiting on the fitness of Alan Thompson, Stanislav Varga and Joos Valgaeren ahead of the game.
