Celtic abandon Douglas action
Celtic will take no further action over the suspension of goalkeeper Rob Douglas for the UEFA Cup fourth round second leg clash at the Nou Camp Stadium on Thursday.
The European governing body rejected the Hoops’ appeal against the dismissal yesterday but the Parkhead club insisted they would consider their options.
But, after meeting with legal advisers, Celtic have decided against taking any further action.
A statement on the club’s official website, www.celticfc.net said: “The club has discussed Rob Douglas’ upheld red card with its legal advisers and has decided there will be no benefit in taking further action.”
