Todorov has not played a first team game since rupturing his cruciate knee ligament two days before the start of the season but the Bulgarian striker is set to replace Yakubu Aiyegbeni at Anfield.

Defender Dejan Stefanovic is also back in contention after three games out with an ankle injury while Alexei Smertin returns after missing Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Everton through suspension.
