Larsson could be a Barca hit - Saviola

Barcelona star Javier Saviola has tipped Henrik Larsson to become a big hit at the Nou Camp if he gets his dream move in the summer.

President Joan Laporta and coach Frank Rijkaard have made encouraging signs about signing the Swedish striker when his contract runs out at Celtic at the end of the season.

Prolific former Feyenoord frontman Larsson is coming to the end of his career but Argentine star Saviola believes he would still hit the net with the Catalan giants.

“Yes I think he is good enough,” said Saviola. “He has scored so many goals and he is a striker with a great reputation. I am sure he would do well here.”

Celtic manager Martin O’Neill has also made a big impression with Rijkaard, who heaped praise on his opposite number before tonight’s UEFA Cup showdown.

“He is doing a great job at the moment,” said the Dutchman. “I have met him a few times before and I certainly have great respect for him.”
