Barca admit interest in signing Larsson
Barcelona have revealed there “is a possibility” they could sign Celtic striker Henrik Larsson at the end of the season.
The news comes just two days before the two sides are set to meet in the fourth round of the UEFA Cup.
Barcelona vice-president Sandro Rossell told the Scottish Daily Express: “Yes, he is a player we like a lot but we will just have to wait and see what the summer brings. Without a doubt he is Celtic’s most dangerous player.
“We can’t make a move for him at the moment but it is a possibility in the summer.
“No-one seems to know where Larsson wants to go but we are keeping a close eye on the situation.”
Meanwhile, Celtic will receive just 3,600 official tickets for the second leg of their UEFA Cup tie against Barcelona.
A further 4,000 tickets will be on sale at the Nou Camp on the day but the allowance is unlikely to satisfy Hoops fans, with around 20,000 expected to make the trip to Spain.
Now the Parkhead club are hopeful of securing extra tickets to satisfy the demand.
A Celtic spokesman told the Daily Record: “We are working feverishly to get more tickets for our supporters. We realise that thousands of fans want to go to Barcelona and the club is desperate to ensure as many as possible get into the game.”
