Tonight’s First Division matches between Walsall and Sunderland, and Rotherham and Crystal Palace have been postponed because of frozen pitches.

It is the second postponement Sunderland have faced in the space of four days following the decision to call off Saturday’s game against Norwich at the Stadium of Light.

Their game at the Bescot Stadium has been put back until tomorrow night, while no new date has been set for the visit of Palace to Millmoor.

A pitch inspection will be held at 1pm to decide whether Bradford’s match with Watford can go ahead tonight.

Elsewhere, Oldham’s Second Division match against Wrexham and Darlington’s Division Three game against Cheltenham were also called off because of frozen pitches.

A number of games in Scotland have also suffered.

The Division One clash between Brechin City and Raith Rovers, the Second Division meeting between Forfar and Arbroath at Station Park and Peterhead’s Third Division trip to Albion Rovers have all been postponed.
