Agent denies Cole unease

Joe Cole’s agent has denied reports the Chelsea midfielder has threatened to hand in a transfer request in protest at his lack of first team opportunities.

The former West Ham hero has struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge following his £6.6million transfer leading to suggestions he will leave the club unless he receives assurances about his future.

But his representative, David Geiss, told BBC Sport: “There is no truth in this. There have been no discussions about Joe’s future at Chelsea.

“Joe is a Chelsea player and there have been no talks whatsoever.”
