Reyes returns to Spain in Arsenal line-up

Jose Reyes made his Champions League debut tonight as he returned to his Spanish homeland with Arsenal for their last 16 first leg tie away to Celta Vigo.

In the absence of Dennis Bergkamp, who does not fly, 20-year-old Reyes partnered Thierry Henry up front as Arsenal looked to score an away goal.

Patrick Vieira was, meanwhile, fit despite injuring his knee against Chelsea last Saturday, to take up his place in central midfield alongside Edu.

However, while Fredrik Ljungberg returned to the starting line-up after a rib injury, Gilberto Silva was out with an ankle injury, while Ashley Cole was also still sidelined by a back problem.

Celta included a handful of names well known in England, including former Arsenal full-back Silvinho and ex-Aston Villa striker Savo Milosevic, as well as, confusingly enough, their own Edu.
