Thompson gives up on England hopes

Celtic midfielder Alan Thompson admits he has given up hope of impressing Sven- Goran Eriksson enough to ever play for England.

Eriksson has been keeping tabs on the Hoops star – who has emerged as one of the Parkhead side’s top players over the last two seasons – and had him watched against Dundee United.
