Heskey partners Owen for Liverpool

Emile Heskey returned to Liverpool’s attack alongside Michael Owen for his first start since the last round of the FA Cup against Newcastle.

A hamstring injury has restricted Heskey since then, but his comeback for the fifth-round clash meant Antony Le Tallec dropped to the bench.

For Portsmouth Teddy Sheringham, Steve Stone and former Liverpool favourite Patrik Berger were out injured.

Lomana LuaLua and John Curtis were cup-tied and Richard Duffy and Kevin Harper suspended.
