Furious Steve Bruce has assured Damien Johnson of his part in Birmingham’s future after slamming speculation that he wanted to sign Nolberto Solano from Newcastle in Johnson’s position on the right wing.

Bruce is fuming at the link with Solano, who finally left St James’ Park to join Aston Villa in a £1.5m (€2.2m) deal.
