Chelsea winger Damien Duff was today battling to be fit for his return to Ewood Park this weekend to face former club Blackburn.

Duff, who moved to Stamford Bridge in a club record £17m (€24m) deal, missed last weekend’s FA Cup fourth round tie with an Achilles problem and has yet to prove his fitness for Sunday’s match.
