Leeds United’s players are to finally play their part in the club’s battle for financial survival after today agreeing to take a 25% wage deferral.

Along with various other measures undertaken by chairman Trevor Birch over the last nine days, the £5m (€7.3m) needed to avoid administration and keep Leeds going until the end of the season would appear to have been raised.
