Villa agree Solano fee

Aston Villa could be on the verge of signing Newcastle United midfielder Nolberto Solano after agreeing a fee for the Peruvian international.

Villa had an initial offer – believed to be around £1m (€1.46m) – rejected for the player but the club confirmed this lunchtime that a new undisclosed offer had met with the approval of the Magpies.
