Izzet a doubt for Villa game

Leicester City midfielder Muzzy Izzet looks like losing his battle to shake off a calf injury in time for Saturday’s derby clash with Aston Villa at the Walkers Stadium.

Izzet has already missed three games with the problem and it was hoped a fortnight’s break from action would prove sufficient for him to recover.

But the Turkish international has still not returned to training and Foxes assistant manager Alan Cork is pessimistic about his chances.

Cork said: “At the moment Muzzy must still be considered very doutbtful for Saturday because he is still undergoing treatment.”

Defender Ben Thatcher has a similar injury but he may be able to play some part against Villa.

“He is still recovering but has a chance of making the Villa game,” said Cork.
