Wolves complete Carl Cort signing

Wolves’ bid to stave off relegation from the Premiership has been boosted by the signing of Newcastle striker Carl Cort.

Wolves’ bid to stave off relegation from the Premiership has been boosted by the signing of Newcastle striker Carl Cort.

The Molineux side have been short of firepower having returned to the top flight this season, scoring just 20 goals in 22 league matches and manager Dave Jones has moved to try to rectify the situation.

Cort completed his transfer today after undergoing a rigorous medical.

The 26-year-old has been plagued with injuries since his move from Wimbledon to St James’ Park in 2000 and, as a result, never had chance to establish himself in the first team.

Cort will be unveiled before Wolves’ FA Cup fourth round tie at home to West Ham later today.
