Kanchelskis moves to Moscow

Dynamo Moscow have signed former Russian international Andrei Kanchelskis in a one-year deal.

The 34-year-old winger has the option to extend the contract for a further season after a much-travelled career which has taken in Manchester United, Everton and Rangers.

Kanchelskis, who hails from Ukraine but opted to play for Russia on the break-up of the Soviet Union, spent two weeks on trial with the club and admitted he had received offers from elsewhere.

“I had several offers but I had a preliminary agreement with Dynamo and I decided to be true to that,” he told Russian daily Sport-Express.

“I had interest from Qatar and Saudi Arabia and when I was on trial at Dynamo two Russian Premier Liga teams also offered me terms.

“But the board of the club fulfilled their promises and I can see that Dynamo has big ambitions.”

Meanwhile, Dynamo’s official website reported that Russian international striker Dmitri Bulykin has headed to England to hold talks with Everton.

Barclaycard Premiership rivals Portsmouth are also believed to be interested in the frontman but Dynamo sport director Alexander Petrashevsky was confident the player would be going nowhere.

He said: “A player can only get a work permit in England if he has played the appointed number of games for his national team – and Bulykin doesn’t have enough games for Russia.”
