Pompey still troubled by injuries

Portsmouth are still gripped by an injury crisis ahead of the FA Cup fourth round showdown with Division Three Scunthorpe at Fratton Park tomorrow.

Pompey boss Harry Redknapp has been scouting for strikers in Spain this week but has yet to sign anyone, meaning Teddy Sheringham is the only senior forward available for the Cup tie.

Aiyegbeni Yakubu is on African Nations Cup duty with Nigeria, while Svetoslav Todorov is back in training after injury but nowhere near a first team comeback.

Midfielder Andy Faye is not ready to return and Pompey’s catalogue of other injury absentees shows no sign of easing as Redknapp’s men attempt to dodge the potential banana skin of a clash with Brian Law’s side.
