Leeds acting-chairman Trevor Birch has been accused by Professional Footballers’ Association chief executive Gordon Taylor of misleading the players with regard to a wage deferral.

Taylor has reiterated the fact the players will agree to defer their pay until the end of the season – but only after Birch has explored every other avenue open to him.
