Keegan praises Anelka

Manchester City manager Kevin Keegan hailed 16-goal striker Nicolas Anelka as a model professional after the Frenchman produced a moment of magic which sent Manchester City into the fourth round of the FA Cup.

With tonight’s replay against Leicester heading for extra time and City’s winless streak looking as though it would be extended to 15 matches, Anelka chased down a Michael Tarnat throw-in that Frank Sinclair was trying to let run back to goalkeeper Ian Walker, nicked in and toed the ball into an empty net to set up the visitors’ 3-1 triumph.
