Cup king Vialli nearly quit Chelsea

Gianluca Vialli never experienced too many cup upsets as Chelsea boss. After all, he accumulated three major knock-out trophies during just over two years in charge at Stamford Bridge.

However, as his successor Claudio Ranieri travels to another of his former clubs, Watford, in the FA Cup third round in search of his first trophy, Vialli has revealed how he almost did not take up the managerial reins at all in West London.
