Crespo misses final game

Hernan Crespo will not travel to Germany with Chelsea for tomorrow’s final Champions League Group G game against Besiktas.

The Argentinean striker suffered a calf injury in the 1-1 Premiership draw with Leeds at Elland Road on Saturday.

Midfielders Claude Makelele and Frank Lampard have however shaken off knocks and will make the trip.

Manager Claudio Ranieri said: “I spoke to Claude this morning and he said he’s in good shape and I’ll assess everybody after training tonight.”

The match is being played at the Arena Auf Schalke in Gelsenkirchen due to security concerns.
