Partick manager keeps job

Partick Thistle chief executive Alan Dick insisted “nothing untoward” emerged from today’s board meeting and that manager Gerry Collins was still in his job.

The Jags are bottom of the Bank of Scotland Premier League table and are still looking for their first win of the season.

Some Firhill supporters had called for manager Gerry Collins to be removed from his post after the 4-2 defeat by Kilmarnock at the weekend.

But Dick is adamant Collins is still the manager of the club.

He said: “Of course he is. It was just a routine board meeting and the manager’s position was not necessarily even discussed.

“There was nothing untoward at all. Board meetings are private and there is no comment I can make as a result of it.

“It was just a routine board meeting where everything was discussed.

“Obviously, fans are interested in the club’s league position and that was discussed and the financial implications of being bottom of the league and normal, routine matters.”
