Hector Berenguel gave the home side the lead with a goal in the 22nd-minute. He rifled the ball to the back of the net after Victor Sanchez chested Fran’s cross into his path.

Juan Carlos Valeron, in his first game since his return from injury, doubled the Spanish side’s lead in the 51st minute, again ably assisted by Sanchez, and Alberto Luque sealed the win in the 71st minute.
