Saints chief stands firm on Strachan

Southampton chairman Rupert Lowe tonight sneered at reports that manager Gordon Strachan is set to become the new manager of relegation-haunted Leeds.

Strachan, who inspired Leeds to the title in 1992, has been strongly linked with a return to Elland Road, even though the Yorkshire club are bottom of the Premiership and £80million in debt.
