Aston Villa will be without midfielder Gavin McCann as they aim for their first Barclaycard Premiership away win of the season at Tottenham on Sunday.

The former Sunderland player is serving a one-match suspension as a result of his sending-off for two bookable offences in the 1-1 draw at Newcastle. Thomas Hitzlsperger is likely to deputise.
