Collymore favourite for Southend job

Southend are set to announce their new manager today with former England international Stan Collymore favourite to land the post.

The Shrimpers held initial discussions with the 33-year-old earlier this week about returning to Roots Hall as player-manager.

But the club decided against making an announcement until after last night’s FA Cup replay at Canvey Island, which they won 3-2.
