St Pat's hopes of qualifying for Europe suffered a damaging blow as Town won for the second week running to inflict another defeat on the FAI Cup finalists.

Substitute Brian Byrne was the Town hero with both goals late in each half.

He headed them in front on 40 minutes thanks to a blunder by Pat's keeper Chris Adamson.

The second goal didn't arrive until stoppage time when Lavine set up Byrne to fire home.
