FAI Intermediate Cup draw is made
The third round draw for the FAI Intermediate Cup has thrown up some exciting ties, with the added bonus winners in this round reach the FAI Carlsberg Senior Cup competition.
The 16 teams successful in this round will go forward with the four semi-finalists of the FAI Junior Cup to the Senior Cup competition.
The draw has thrown up a number of attractive local derbies mixed with some long journeys for some clubs.
Glenmore – Dundrum have been drawn against their local rivals from Stepaside Wayside Celtic, Crumlin United will meet Cherry Orchard while there is an all-Cork clash between Carrigaline United and Leeds.
Aer Lingus Sari face a trip to Donegal to meet Letterkenny Rovers while in turn Donegal side Drumkeen United face a 600-mile round trip for their game with Cork club Ringmahon Rangers.
Third round ties are to be played on the week-end of November 30.
