City leave Fowler on bench to face Foxes

Robbie Fowler has had to settle for a place on the Manchester City bench today against Leicester.

City manager Kevin Keegan decided to restore Paulo Wanchope to the starting line-up and he partners Nicolas Anelka.

Goalkeeper Kevin Ellegaard was given a debut as David Seaman failed a fitness test this morning on a mystery injury.

Eyal Berkovic and Antoine Sibierski were drafted in with Claudio Reyna (hamstring) and Shaun Wright-Phillips (suspended) absent.

Ben Thatcher was recalled to the Leicester team with Frank Sinclair sidelined with an Achilles injury.
