Droghs beat Longford to ease relegation worries

Longford Town 0 Drogheda United 2

Drogheda eased their relegation worries as second half goals from Gary Cronin and Andy Myler gave them a vital win at Flancare Park.

Cronin struck for only his second goal of the season on 54 minutes when drilling a shot past Stephen O'Brien after Town failed to clear their lines.

The second goal on 80 minutes was a real team effort with John Flanagan, Myler, Barry Molloy and Cronin all involved before Myler sidefooted past O' Brien for his 14th league goal of the season.

The only sour note for Drogheda was a red card for Molloy on 90 minutes for a second bookable offence.

The win moves Drogheda four points ahead of second bottom Derry, two points behind Longford who have two games in hand.
