Injury rules out Sinclair for Foxes
Leicester City defender Frank Sinclair has been ruled out of Sunday’s trip to Manchester City after suffering an Achilles tendon injury.
Sinclair was carried off in the 72nd minute of last Sunday’s 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers and was originally thought to be facing a two-week lay-off.
But subsequent scans have shown the injury to be more severe than at first thought and the 31-year-old is now expected to spend at least six weeks out of action.
The groin injury afflicting central defender Gerry Taggart means the Irishman will also miss out against his former club.
Callum Davidson has returned to training after recovering from a pelvic problem, with the Scotsman also having featured in a friendly against Stoke City at Belvoir Road.
But the weekend encounter with Kevin Keegan’s outfit will come too soon for the left-back’s inclusion.
Provisional squad: Walker, Impey, Howey, Thatcher, Rogers, Gillespie, Izzet, Nalis, Scowcroft, Dickov, Ferdinand, Coyne, Stewart, Elliott, McKinlay, Bent.
