Houllier happy with draw
Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier admitted he was happy with his side’s 1-1 draw at Steaua Bucharest in the UEFA Cup second round, first leg.
The Reds appeared to be in control after defender Djimi Traore put them ahead with a superb 25-yard effort midway through the first half but Claudiu Raducanu levelled for the hosts after 68 minutes.
Asked whether he was happy with the result, Houllier told Channel 5: “Yes, I am. Taking into account the conditions it was a good result.
“We are in a good position (for the second leg) but we still have a job to do.
“We had enough chances in the first half – and at the start of the second half – but we had to dig deep and had a bit of luck late on.”
