Mihajlovic 'lost his mind' - Mutu
Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu revealed his sense of “humiliation” at being spat on by Sinisa Mihajlovic as he accused the Lazio defender of “losing his mind” in their Champions League tussle.
Mihajlovic faces a probable UEFA investigation into the way in which he not only spat into Mutu’s ear but also kicked him while he was lying on the ground.
Both incidents were missed by the match officials but were clearly caught by television cameras at last night’s game, which ended in a resounding 4-0 win for Chelsea.
Mutu later told the Evening Standard: “Mihajlovic should stop playing mind games as he lost those as well as the match.
“He should concentrate on football as he needs to improve his game.
“It was an awful insult – it was humiliating to be spat at, but I didn’t react as I put the team before any personal vendetta.
“He has a very poor sense of humour. Some exchanges were made but he couldn’t take it so he got violent. It was unprovoked and he started it.
“It had the opposite effect though, as he got sent off later on. He lost his mind and didn’t play well.
“He made a lot of mistakes. Lazio tried to be aggressive but it didn’t work as it was a night to remember for us.”
