Partick could be without midfielder Andy Thomson for several weeks after scans revealed bleeding within his knee joint.

The former Queens Park Rangers man was injured in the home defeat by Hearts on October 25.

Firhill physiotherapist George Hannah believes the problem will take time to heal.

He told the club website, www.ptfc.co.uk: “He got a scan on Friday which revealed he has got substantial bleeding within the joint which is more serious than we first thought, and that will have him out for a few weeks.”

He added: “Ian Ross’ toe fracture is on-going. He is still on non-weight bearing exercises and that will be for another week or so and then he will have three weeks of rehabilitation.

“Eddie Forrest is returning to training after his foot injury.”
